Op 11 september Recalibrate Reality X GOGBOT.
Robert Henke is a composer, artist and software developer, born 1969 in Munich, Germany. He is mainly known for his contributions to contemporary electronic music, for his laser works, and as co-creator of the music software Ableton Live. The backbone and heart of his creations are machines and algorithms, utilising mathematical rules, controlled random operations and complex feedback systems. Many of his installation works change slowly over long periods of time, and are specifically conceived or adapted for unique locations. They often include elements of intentional uncertainty, resulting in not entirely predictable behaviour, and endless variation. His sonic works are both inspired by the raw power of radical club music and the complexities and richness of contemporary compositions. Spatiality and timbre are core topics in his work, and he is recognised as a pioneering explorer of surround sound and wave field synthesis. The CBM 8032 AV project is an exploration of the beauty of simple graphics and sound, using computers from the early 1980’s. This work is about the ambivalence between a contemporary aesthetic and the usage of obsolete and limited technology from 40 years ago. Everything presented within the project could have been done already in the 1980, but it needed the cultural backdrop of today to come up with the artistic ideas driving it.
Klahrk is a London based music producer, label owner and events promoter. The founder of Ware Collective & an affiliate of Activia Benz and SFX, he has released projects spanning across many mediums. His sound blends influences from jungle, bass music, ambient, trance & house to create a unique sonic field.
His work has received support from publications such as DJ Mag, AQNB, Mixmag, The Fader and artists such as Noisia, Sam Rolfes, LCY, Catnapp & Zoe Mc Pherson. He also hosts a bi-monthly radio show on Cairo based Ma3azef Radio & hosted the Corsica Studios Radio Show on Balamii whilst it ran in 2019.
HDMIRROR (ZA/DE) is a project of the South African, Berlin-based producer, visual artist, and sound fashionist Gerard Olivier. HDMIRROR’s work is characterized by their unique brand of “dysfunctional dance music”. Drawing influence from our collective daily overdose of information and disinformation, HDMIRROR makes dance music for an accelerated age. Since the project’s inception, they have so far released more than 52 tracks and 6 music videos which were all self-made, self-designed and self-mastered. Releases such as ‘ADRENALIN’, ‘AVANT-TRANCE’, and ‘ANTHEMS’ come packaged with dense visual material and offer a relentlessly modern vision of rave-related culture.
E de Cologne
He began as a child prodigy of Gabba music under the name of E de Cologne, took our hearts by storm as Candie Hank and was for many fans the favourite producer and mastermind behind the Puppetmastaz. Teaming up with Gina V. D’Orio he formed EC8OR and released on the legendary Beastie Boys label Grand Royal. With Xberg Dhirty6 Cru he gracefully crashed into the German Hip Hop scene and along the way wrote and interpreted the music for the theatre piece „Atomized'' at Stadttheater Freiburg embodying Houellebecq himself on stage. Lately he also mixed and produced the latest record of the Hamburg based Techno Act Fraktus.
For this year’s edition of GOGBOT Catani will return to his roots as E de Cologne. Expect; kickdrums that aren’t kickdrums, more beats in a minute than our hearing can identify, squealing sounds that make you feel good inside and of course the finest selection of christmas carols available today.
The Horrorist, Oliver Chesler, one of the best known and loved electronic musicians is coming to GOGBOT! Recording since 1989 he has released over 80 12" singles and 3 full length albums. In 2001 he had a Number 1 hit on the German Dance Charts (DDC) with the song "One Night in NYC" and in 2004 his album "Manic Panic" went to Number 1 on the German Alternative Chart (DAC). The scope of his music catalog is huge and he has recorded for every major label (Universal, Sony, Warner, Koch, etc...) and all the best known techno labels (Tresor, Industrial Strength, Neue Heimat, etc..).
The Horrorist is a sensational live act. A mixture of industrial attitude and punk style with synth-techno music. Playing a set that goes from minimal or new wave all the way to hardcore and everything in between, there is something for everyone. But the biggest thing about the Horrorist's sets is the interactivity that comes with having a live performer that a crowd is capable of understanding. The show is comprised of Chesler's in your face vocals, video projection and live drum machine and synth.
Polish producer well known for his outstanding contribution to the hardcore techno and breakcore scene. His first EP release was a fact in the year 2000. From that moment many respected labels like MOH, PRSPCT, Deathchant, Strike, Hangars Liquides and LowRes spread his music worldwide.
